Fabio Capello has been hit by a double injury scare ahead of England's friendly with France on Wednesday.
Jack Wilshere did not take part in training and first-choice keeper Joe Hart required treatment after suffering an injury when the session got underway.
Wilshere, 18, had been tipped to make his first international start on the back of some outstanding performances for Arsenal this season.
However although he came out for a brief team meeting on the Wembley pitch prior to training, he then disappeared down the tunnel as the other members - with the exception of Phil Jagielka, who has a temperature - completed their session.
It soon became apparent that there was another problem as well as Hart went down.
Concerned colleagues Ben Foster and Robert Green gathered round as Hart received treatment before the Manchester City keeper was helped off the field in obvious discomfort.
From the brief glimpses of Hart leaving the Wembley pitch it is difficult to see how he could be involved on Wednesday, which would almost certainly mean a rare start for Foster.
One positive for the Italian was the presence of Andy Carroll, amid increasing expectations that he will make his debut on Wednesday night.
The 21-year-old Newcastle striker had been rated an extreme doubt after reporting for duty with a groin problem he picked up in the Magpies' goalless draw with Fulham on Saturday.
If Jagielka does not recover in time for the game it appears likely his central defensive slot will go to Joleon Lescott.
