Harry Redknapp just joined Twitter

Welcome to the Twittersphere, Harry Redknapp.

The former QPR and Tottenham boss and confirmed technophobe made his first foray into the social media whirl this morning with the Twitter handle @Redknapp. The man doesn’t need a first name.

Naturally the inevitable #bantz was not far behind.

Undeterred, Redknapp followed up with some japes of his own.

If that seems a little obscure, it’s a reference to this…

And there was only one way to sum that tweet up.

Among the first people Redknapp followed were Tottenham players Kyle Walker, Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane, as well as Manchester United’s Ashley Cole and Michael Carrick.

Four months on from his Loftus Road departure, there was no sign of any QPR players.

It’s quite a turnaround from Redknapp, who in 2012 told police he did not know how to work a computer and had never sent a text message.

When his finances were under investigation in 2012, Redknapp told City of London police: “I can’t work a computer, I don’t know what an email is, I can’t, I have never sent a fax and I’ve never even sent a text message.”

Perhaps he’s had some help from those Barclays Digital Eagles.
