Green: I'll bounce back

Robert Green was quick to insist he would "bounce back" from his error which gifted the United States and equalising goal in their 1-1 draw with Englanf. Steven Gerrard had given Fabio Capello's side an early goal, but Clint Dempsey's shot squirmed in off Green to ensure the match finished 1-1. The result is more disappointing for England than the United States. Green did not hide in the dressing room, fronting up to the inevitable media spotlight immediately after the match. "I didn't let it affect me for the rest of the match. it has happened but I'll move on and bounce back from it," he told BBC Sport. "It has hit the outside of my thumbs, I'm not that bad a keeper to miss it by that much. Do that again 1,000 times and i'll save it 999 times. "It is a game we were looking to win, where you look at both ends of the pitch and say where that's where things are decided. We had enough chances to win the game and I've cost us a goal which is disappointing and something to bounce back from." Gerrard, the England captain, said Green still had the confidence of his teammates. "It was one of those freak things, I don't think you can criticise the keeper. People have been talking about the ball and it is tricky," he told ITV. "Rob will learn from this and he might make an important save that wins us a match. We're all behind him."  was one of those freak things, I don't think you can criticise the keeper. People have been talking about the ball and it is tricky.
