Go ahead for National Football Centre

The Football Association's National Football Centre at Burton has gained planning permission. East Staffordshire Council gave the project, which the FA hope to open in 2012, the go-ahead on Monday with unanimous backing. "The planning permission enables us to move towards crystallising the tendering and funding arrangements for this enormously important education hub for football," said David Sheepshanks, joint acting chairman of the FA. The centre will provide training facilities for all the England teams.
