The Football Association has revealed that England will take on Germany in a friendly in Berlin in November.
Newly-installed coach Fabio Capello's side will take on their historic rivals at the Olympic Stadium on November 19.
"This should be a great match," said Capello, whose first match in charge is a home friendly against Switzerland at Wembley on February 6.
"I'm delighted this fixture has been arranged. It should be a real challenge and something the players will look forward to."
England's last away clash with Germany ended in a famous 5-1 victory in Munich in 2001 when Michael Owen scored a hat-trick.
The last meeting between the two sides came at Wembley five months ago when Steve McClaren's side slumped to a 2-1 defeat.
England led through a Frank Lampard opener, before first-half replies from Kevin Kuranyi and Christian Pander settled the match in Germany's favour.
