As expectations are at an all time low for England supporters we look at some key statistics as they gear up to face France in Donetsk.

England are without a win in five against France in all competitions, losing their last three. 

England have only ever lost four consecutive games against the same opponent three times before; the last time this occurred was in 1976, when England lost a fourth successive game against Brazil.

Three of England's last four goals against France have come in the 86th minute. 

England have met France twice before at European Championships, drawing 0-0 in 1992 and losing 1-2 in Euro 2004 when Zidane netted a brace. 

England have played in more European Championship tournaments without winning one than any other team. (A record seven times).

England have scored in their last 10 European Championship group games, but have only won half of them. (Winning 5, drawing 1 and losing 4). 

No side has scored more goals in the opening fifteen minutes of qualifying games for Euro 2012 than England. (Six times). 

France have been eliminated from their last two tournaments without winning a single group game. (Played six, drawing 2 and losing 4).

During the European qualifiers, France have hit the woodwork more times than any other side. (Seven times). 

Only Italy conceded fewer goals in qualifying than France.  

Karim Benzema has scored more goals (seven) and recorded more assists (five) than any other French player since Blanc took over.

In 202 minutes of football for France, Olivier Giroud has delivered three assists and scored one goal. 

Only five of the French squad featured at Euro 2008.

Sixteen of the 19 goals that England have scored since the turn of 2011 have come in the opening hour.

John Terry and Joleon Lescott have started just two games together for England - both wins against Andorra in qualifying for the 2010 World Cup. 

Roy Hodgson has faced France once before in international football. His Switzerland side won 2-1 against them in a friendly match in Lausanne in May 1992.
