Fabio Capello has confirmed that there will be a place for Manchester United's Ben Foster in his England squad to face Slovakia and Ukraine.
Capello has been impressed by the United keeper's performances when he has stepped in for Edwin van der Sar in recent weeks.
Foster has not featured on the international scene under Capello as he has struggled with injury for the majority of the last 15 months.
But after starring in United's Carling Cup Final win over Tottenham in front of Capello, the England head coach is ready to hand him another England chance.
The 25-year-old's one and only England cap to date came in a friendly against Spain two years ago.
"I will pick Foster," said the England boss ahead of his full squad announcement on Sunday evening.
"A lot of people have told me he is a very good goalkeeper but he has always been injured.
"I watched him on TV and then he played in the Carling Cup Final and I saw him there.
"He surprised me with his confidence. I went to Fulham hoping to see him in the FA Cup tie but Sir Alex pulled him out.
"I will check him again during the week in training and then decide if he is going to play."
