MARCA: "We won't stain this star"

In Spain everyone is adamant that Spain will not settle for a Draw against Croatia. Vicente del Bosque has said "We always try and win the match". Doubts arose because a draw is a good result for both teams, and a draw of two goals or more would leave Italy out of the tournament. The vice-president of the Italian Football Federation has come in defence of La Roja saying "I have any doubts about Spain".
Croatia coach Davor Suker has also hit back at claims by saying "Both teams are going to try and win the match".

AS: "Spain's game is out of this world"

Today's front page of AS is a collection of what the foreign press says about Spain's game against Ireland, like for example The Mirror that said "They will have nightmares about Iniesta, Xavi and Silva"
"England and France leaders in their group" after France beat Ukraine 2-0 and England beat Sweden 3-2, leaving Ibrahimovic's team out of the tournament.

SPORT: "Mister Vilanova"

Sport dedicates it's front page to the new Barcelona manager, Tito Vilanova. The decision to keep Vilanova, instead of bringing in another coach is to give continuity to Pep's legacy. Yesterday Vilanova gave his first Press Conference as Barcelona manager, where among other things he insisted Alves wouldn't be going anywhere, and Keita could stay, if he chose to. One of his most memorable quotes was "I don't want to be compared to Pep, as I would lose always".

A BOLA: "30 Million for Witsel"

A Bola assures readers that Real Madrid are preparing 30 million euros for the Benfica midfielder, saying "Jose Mourinho wants him and Jesus is ready to lose him"

Varela seems to be the man of the moment in Portugal, giving them a last minute goal to secure a win 3 days ago. He was also a hero back in 2002 when Portugal didn't depend on only themselves in the Korea World Cup. The Porto winger has come in defence of Cristiano Ronaldo, saying he would give his all for the national team.

RECORD: "Looking at Gelson Fernandes"

Sporting Portugal is looking to sign Saint-Etienne's midfielder Gelson Fernandes, everything is expected to go according to plan since they are not counting on the 25 year old for next season.

Alvaro Vazquez has apparently already spoken to his Spain sub-21 team mate about Benfica since a move from Espanyol to the Portuguese club may be on the cards for this young player.

Yesterday, Deportivo la Coruña presented their two new signings, both from Sporting André santos and Salomao - the latter has been on loan last season.

GAZZETTA DELLO SPORT:  "Trust us!"

In Italy, they are mocking Spain after various team players and coach have said they will not settle with a draw against Croatia. The Italian paper says: the Spanish coach and his players have said "On Monday against Croatia we want to win"

Prandelli has come out and said that in his match against Ireland he will make three or four alterations to the team, 1-0 will be enough.
