England international Wilfried Zaha has admitted a Football Association charge of improper conduct after making a rude gesture to Leeds fans during Crystal Palace's Championship clash on Saturday.
Palace winger Zaha was taunted by Leeds fans over his impending transfer to Manchester United during the 2-2 draw at Selhurst Park and the 20-year-old responded by raising his middle finger towards the Yorkshire team's supporters.
United and Leeds are long-time rivals and Ivory Coast-born Zaha, who will move to Old Trafford at the end of the season after signing a contract with Alex Ferguson's team in January, was unable to avoid an FA charge despite having apologised.
"On that note I also wanted to apologise for the gesture I did towards the Leeds fans. Very unprofessional from me," he wrote on Twitter.
Zaha has requested a personal hearing, while Palace manager Ian Holloway has been fined £2,000 after admitting a charge of improper conduct following his complaints to the match officials about their failure to send off two Leeds players during the stormy fixture.
