England to face a dangerous Poland

On Tuesday evening, England take on Poland in Warsaw, a completely different test to one which they faced on Friday night when they disposed of minnows San Marino. The Euro 2012 co-hosts will be a tough team to beat. An intense atmosphere will be present throughout, but silencing the crowd will be high on England’s agenda.
For England to do that they need to be solid throughout and very wary of Poland on the counter attack. With influential captain Jakub Blaszczykowski out with an ankle injury, Poland can still cause a threat.
Their main threat is Borussia Dortmund’s hit man Robert Lewandowski. The big striker has been in the form of his life for the past 12 months. Lewandowski scored 30 goals in all completions for Dortmund last season, including a hat trick in their German Cup final victory over Bayern Munich. Lewandowski is an all round striker. He can be the target man, come deep and get the ball and also make runs behind the defence. His performance against Manchester City in the Champions League recently will make England take note of his play. Also in Poland’s lineup will be Lewandowski’s Dortmund team mate Lukasz Piszczek. The right back was an integral part of Dortmund’s double winning season and his pace on the counter attack will be something that England will need to be wary off and one that Ashley Cole needs to keep intact.
A tough night for England expected in Warsaw, but as long as their disciplined and keep Lewandowski quiet, they should return with all 3 points.
