England Women crush Serbia again in Euro qualifying

England Women scored seven goals without reply against Serbia for the second time in four days to ease to victory in their UEFA Euro 2017 qualifying clash.

The crushing win ensures Mark Sampson's side cannot finish lower than second in Group 7.

Jill Scott opened the scoring in the 13th minute with a powerful header from Demi Stokes' cross and Ellen White doubled the Lionesses' lead after 28 minutes as she hooked home from close range.

Steph Houghton was inches away from adding a third with a neat header, before Chelsea's Gemma Davison did extend the lead as she took advantage of a defensive error to calmly round the goalkeeper and slot home her first international goal.

Davison's second goal in an England shirt arrived shortly after the restart when she turned in a low cross from Stokes at the far post.

Karen Carney, who scored a hat-trick in Saturday's clash, saw a shot rebound to Davison off the keeper but the Blues winger was denied a treble of her own as the ball went in off Nevena Damjanovic.

The goals continued to flow as substitute Nikita Parris glanced in a sixth from Carney's cross, and after the Manchester City striker had seen another header tipped over the crossbar she smashed home a superb seventh from distance to cap another impressive display.

The Lionesses entertain Estonia in September before travelling to Belgium for what could be the group decider.
