All the build-up to England's crucial Group C clash with Algeria in Cape Town, as Fabio Capello's men look to make a statement at the FIFA 2010 World Cup.
17.15 - The first Group C game of the day has just finished 2-2 between Slovenia and the United States meaning that England can top the group if they win by more than one goal against Algeria this evening.
15.40 - It's less than four hours until England kick-off their must-win game in Cape Town. Remember to follow England v Algeria LIVE on football.co.uk. In the other Group C game the United States are currently 1-0 down to Slovenia, although there is still plenty of time left in that one.

14:00 - According to an article by Nick Collins in the Telegraph, England missed out on months of training with the Jabulani ball because a shipment went missing. Apparently FIFA sent 25 to England in February. It was signed for, but never reached the squad. Conspiracy anyone? Meanwhile, Germany are losing 1-0 to Serbia.
13:00 - Bit of a lull in gossip as the morning turns into afternoon and Germany v Serbia kicks off in Port Elizabeth. Jermain Defoe has been talking up his chances if he does indeed get a start alongside Rooney - read that one here. The Guardian are ready to confirm it will be James and not Green between the sticks tonight. Apparently Green had a shocker in open training yesterday, and that was him done for.
11:30 - Before the main event tonight we've got two other games to keep you entertained with - starting with Germany v Serbia at 12.30pm. The Germans were very impressive in their opening game and their odds will shorten further if they hammer Nemanja Vidic and Co at lunchtime. Follow it live! Back to England matters and the BBC have changed side in the Green v James debate. They're saying James will start. It's looking more and more likely.
11.00 - England face Algeria in the Green Point stadium in Cape Town tonight. 09:45 - Fabio Capello has confirmed he will delay naming the England team until two hours before kick-off - as he did against the US. BBC sources are claiming David James will start in goal, but Sky Sports are sticking with Rob Green - as are GMTV for that matter. The media outlets are also split on who will partner Wayne Rooney.
