England squad in good shape

Roy Hodgson looks set to have a strong squad to choose from for the match against Montenegro after all 23 England players took part in training on Thursday morning.

Captain Steven Gerrard led the squad out on a cold morning at Arsenal's London Colney training ground, which England are using ahead of Friday's World Cup qualifier at Wembley.

The squad were put through their paces in a warm-up before taking part in some ball work. England's three goalkeepers trained separately with coach Dave Watson.

Jack Wilshere looked relaxed as he took to the field after a turbulent couple of days for the Arsenal midfielder.

Wilshere sparked controversy when he was asked about the prospect of Belgium-born midfielder Adnan Januzaj playing for England.

Wilshere said: "The only people who should play for England are English people."

Those comments led to an angry response from England's South African-born batsman Kevin Pietersen.

Wilshere has since claimed his comments were misinterpreted.

England are one point clear at the top of Group H and will guarantee automatic qualification to the World Cup if they beat Montenegro and Poland, who visit Wembley next Tuesday.
