England could suffer at Euro 2012 due to their decision not to base themselves in Ukraine, Shakhtar Donetsk defender Tomas Hubschman has said.
The Football Association announced a month before the championship's December draw that the team would be stay in the Polish city of Krakow. Despite being drawn to play all of their matches in Ukraine, England did not waver in their decision and the team will now need to fly in for each of their Group D games.
Hubschman said: "I don't know about England but I think that a lot of European people are a bit afraid of Ukraine because they don't know about it. But I can't understand why they didn't even look at the facility and they refused."
The move has been heavily criticised and more questions have been raised after a Shakhtar official revealed this week that the FA did not even visit their facilities before making a decision.
The Kirsha Training Centre - a short drive from the city's Donbass Arena, where England will play two matches - will instead be used by Group D rivals France, who Hubschman believes will have an advantage as a result.
"It's an honour for me to be trained here," the Shakhtar midfielder said. "It is a really fantastic facility. It is very good and I have already been at the club for eight years.
"I am not a France supporter but I can tell that you this is a really good facility, which is why I tell you they have a really good advantage."
Hubschman will be competing at Euro 2012 with the Czech Republic, whose Group A games are all in the Polish city of Wroclaw.
"We will see how England perform during the matches, but as a football player I can tell you that it is not very good to always be on the move," he said.
"You have to change from aircraft to coach and you cannot concentrate. It takes energy out of you. I think France will have a good chance to have a rest while England will be flying and I think that they will have more advantage."
