England manager Roy Hodgson reiterated the stance that Tuesday night's friendly with France at Wembley was a "show of defiance" following Friday's terrorist attacks on Paris.
Hodgson's England were hosting Les Bleus four days after at least 129 people were killed and hundreds more injured in a series of attacks in the French capital.
Various tributes were paid in memory of the victims of the attacks, and crowds joined in the singing of French national anthem La Marseillaise .
Hodgson told ITV ahead of the match: "Globally it's going to be even more foc us on our game seeing as it's France we're playing.
"We see the game as a show of solidarity and a show of defiance. The French team and the French federation were very keen for the game to go ahead. Just to make certain that the terrorists don't win and force the games to be stopped in this way.
"That's what they wanted and it's pretty much what we wanted too."
Regarding the mindset of his players, Hodgson added: " I don't there'll be any problems once the game starts, but of course the atmosphere does have an effect on people and it doesn't feel to me tonight like it normally does coming into Wembley Stadium to play any sort of match."
