Defoe enjoys positive finale

Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe has admitted his midweek goals for England have enabled him to sign off a disappointing season on a high.
Substitute Defoe grabbed two goals in the 6-0 World Cup qualifying win over Andorra at Wembley as England maintained their 100 per cent record on the road to South Africa.
But after spending almost three months on the sidelines after rejoining Spurs from Portsmouth in January, Defoe was delighted to end his season in style.
The 26-year-old striker made just ten appearances following his £9million return to White Hart Lane after picking up a foot injury.
"When I scored I thought about what I'd gone through with the injuries and so to finish off like that was good for me," said Defoe.
"I missed a lot of the season and that's been difficult because I've never really been injured before.
"The way the season has gone I thought to myself that it would be great to get in the England squad again and if I could get a goal it would be perfect - and that's what happened."
