City agree fee for Milner
Roberto Mancini, the Manchester City manager, expects to complete the signing of England midfielder James Milner this week. The Aston Villa player, 24, is expected to head to Eastlands, with Stephen Ireland leaving the Citizens to join Villa as part of a deal worth around £24million. "I think that Milner is a good player, an English player which is important. I think that Milner can play in different positions," said Mancini. Milner made his final appearance for Villa on Saturday, a 3-0 Premier League win over West Ham United at Villa Park. He scored the third goal and was given a standing ovation by Villa supporters when substituted towards the end of the match.
