Michael Carrick returned to England training on Tuesday, ensuring Fabio Capello will have a nearly full squad to choose from for Wednesday's game against Slovenia. The Manchester United midfielder sat out Monday's session with an ankle injury but was able to take full part on Tuesday. Ledley King, continuing his recovery from a groin injury, was the only player to sit out the session. John Terry was the first player out as he sought to move on from his public criticism of coach Capello, which brought a rebuke from teammates and the Italian coach and led to him apologising on Tuesday morning. He will play alongside Matty Upson in the centre of defence on Wednesday, his third defensive partner of the tournament. King played against the United States but was injured, while Jamie Carragher came in against Algeria. Carragher is suspended after being booked when coming on against the United States and against Algeria. England will make one other enforced change: wearing their all-red change strip rather than the traditional white.
