Carrick misses Switzerland game

Michael Carrick has pulled out of the England squad to face Switzerland on Saturday. The Manchester United central midfielder was unable to train on Tuesday or Wednesday, and has accepted the hip "knock" he suffered while playing in Saturday's Champions League final loss to Barcelona will rule him of a return to Wembley.Carrick is the third Three Lions player to withdraw from the squad ahead of Saturday's European Championship qualifier.The Fulham goalkeeper David Stockdale pulled out because he it clashes with his wedding, while the Tottenham forward Jermain Defoe was ruled out with a wrist injury.
