Capello undecided on Rooney's Euro inclusion

England coach Fabio Capello will await the outcome of Wayne Rooney's appeal against a three-match UEFA suspension to decide whether to pick the Manchester United striker for Euro 2012.

Rooney's appeal against a three-match ban, which would see him miss all three group matches against France, Sweden and Ukraine in next year's European championships, will be heard by UEFA on Thursday.

He picked up the UEFA suspension for kicking out at Miodrag Dzudovic in England's final qualifier in Montenegro in October.

Capello had previously indicated he would select Rooney regardless of the outcome of the appeal, but has now admitted he is waiting to hear that first.

"I need to wait. I need to wait and see how the appeal goes this week," said Capello.

"I hope Rooney will be there. The sentence, three games, was too much for me and I hope the appeal will help us reduce the sentence.

"I hope he'll be available for the third game. I hope they understand our lawyer, what Rooney says and what I will say at the committee."
