Capello rankings are not his

Fabio Capello's son has insisted the World Cup ranking system that bears the England coach's name does nor represent the Italian's views, and that he made no commercial gain from it. Capello agreed to give his backing to the site before the tournament in South Africa. It promised to offer the coach's views on his England players. He backed out of the project after anger from the Football Association, but the website stoked controversy this week when it listed rankings supposedly from the coach. The index remained available on its website - CapelloIndex.com - on Monday, although England players had been removed. The site now says it uses a rating system devised by Capello rather than his personal views. Capello's son Pierfilippo, who is also his agent, said there was no commercial benefit for his father and the ratings were not his. "Fabio is very sorry and upset this has happened. We had told the FA there would not be any ratings appearing on any of the England players," he told The Sun. "So to find out that the opposite has happened just a day later was something we were unhappy about. There is no commercial value in this to Fabio - he was just interested to see and compare how the statistics would compare with his own evaluations. "These are not Fabio's ratings and we are now looking to have his name removed from the title."
