Capello calls on Bent after Cole blow

Fabio Capello has called Darren Bent into the England squad for Wednesday's World Cup qualifier against the Ukraine. The Italian made the decision after Carlton Cole was ruled out with a thigh injury picked up in this evening's 4-0 win over Slovakia.Capello also has a major doubt over Emile Heskey, who will undergo a scan tomorrow after lasting just 14 minutes before limping off with what the England coach described as cramp. And even though Peter Crouch should be fit despite picking up a hip injury, Capello has chosen to call the Spurs striker as back-up.Capello had earlier ruled out calling on Michael Owen or Kevin Davies, who had been tipped to earn a place in the original squad when it was announced last week."Michael Owen played 20 minutes in his last game, it is not enough," declared the Italian."And it would not be Kevin Davies either.""At the moment we don't know," said Capello of Heskey's chances of being fit for the Wembley clash on Wednesday. He also confirmed Rio Ferdinand should be available after scans on a groin injury which caused him to miss out on Saturday revealed no damage.[LNB]
