United States striker Jozy Altidore has won his battle to be fit to face England in Saturday's World Cup Group C encounter in Rustenburg.

Altidore missed the weekend success over Australia in Johannesburg while recovering from an ankle problem. But the 20-year-old has resumed full training and head coach Bob Bradley is confident he will be able to play a full part against Fabio Capello's side.

Bradley said: "The injury cost him a couple of days (training) but, from the start, we knew it was very minor. The fact he is back in regular training means he is available for whatever role we choose on Saturday."

Altidore could have a key role to play against England as he was the USA's leading marksman in their qualifying campaign for the finals with six goals.

But Edson Buddle and Robbie Findley staked their claims to start by impressing as a partnership against Australia.
