Elgin march to top

Elgin went top of the league thanks to a 3-1 win away at Peterhead.

Three first-half goals gave the hosts little chance of gaining their first home point of the season.

Craig Gunn opened the scoring with his eighth goal of the season with a clinical finish from 18 yards.

The lead doubled soon after when Daniel Moore's inswinging corner was nodded home by Mark Nicolson.

Moore turned provider again when his cross from the left was superbly headed in by Jamie Duff.

Peterhead gave their fans something to cheer immediately after the break. Graeme Beveridge fouled Paul Watson and Barry Sellars blasted the resulting 25-yard free-kick home.

Elgin were reduced to 10n men late on when Daniel Moore received his marching orders for his second yellow card of the afternoon.
