Captain back for historic clash

Elgin City welcome back skipper David Niven from a one-game ban as they host Rangers for the first time in their history, a match that was re-arranged following last month's ticketing fiasco.

The Borough Briggs side have a major doubt over defender Jamie Duff who suffered a knee injury against Queen's Park last Saturday and having not trained this week manager Ross Jack rates his chances of facing the League leaders as 'slim.'

Jack said: "We are going into the game on the back of a nine-game unbeaten run and I cannot ask for any more than that.

"Rangers have started to pick up wins away from home but we have hope that we can score against them and if we can score then we can win."

Rangers are boosted by the return of Emilson Cribari and Sebastien Faure.

Cribari (calf) and Faure (hernia) have both recovered from their respective injuries and come into contention for the lunchtime encounter at Borough Briggs.

Dean Shiels (ankle) is unlikely to make the trip north but Kevin Kyle could feature after missing the midweek win over Annan with a knock, while Lee Wallace is also set to be available after the club appealed his red card.
