Elgin boosted by return of duo

Elgin host fellow play-off chasers Queen's Park on Saturday and the Borough Briggs side have Marc McKenzie and Darryl McHardy back in their ranks.

McKenzie is available again after a ban while McHardy returns to the squad after missing out in the goalless draw with Stirling Albion last weekend. However, Dylan Easton is still suspended for Jim Weir's side, who slipped out of the play-off zone last weekend.

Weir said: "A win over Queen's Park gets us back in there. They are a very good side defensively and if we are to get the win we need to show a more clinical side to our game. We are at a stage of the season where there is no room for error."

Queen's Park add Jamie McKernon (foot) to an injured list that already includes Tony Quinn (hip) and Kenny Mackay (knee). Joe Bradley could also miss out after being injured in last weekend's 3-0 win over East Stirling.

Head coach Gus MacPherson said: "We will look to be positive and get a result that keeps us in the top four. However, first and foremost, I want us to show that we can be competitive at a very hard venue.

"We played well last Saturday and showed a strong cutting edge and it would be great to show that edge again against a good Elgin side."
