Elgin look to keep dream alive

Elgin have Mark Nicolson missing through suspension as they look to keep their play-off dreams alive by defeating fourth-placed visitors Montrose.

The Borough Briggs men are also without Paul Millar (knee), Darryl McHardy (toe), Fraser Forbes (hamstring) and Lewis Halford (calf), with Paul McMullen facing a fitness test after a hamstring problem.

Manager Ross Jack said: "If we win this one we pull to within a point of Montrose and that is a great incentive. A draw would not hurt them as much as it would hurt us so we will be going out for the win.

"We are a bit short of numbers but we are big on motivation and hopefully that will get us through. Win this one and things really tighten up for a play-off place."

Montrose head north with the versatile Garry Wood available after he overcame the training ground knock that kept him out of the 2-2 draw with Stirling.

The Gable Endies are at full strength with Jonathan Crawford and Phil McGuire added to the squad after knee injuries, and manager Stuart Garden is predicting goals at Borough Briggs.

He said: "They beat us 6-1 on our last visit there which was a bit sore. The two games at our place were a 2-2 draw and a 4-1 win for us so both teams know the way to goal.

"I would be quite happy with a 1-0 win or a 9-8 win this time."
