Late tests for Elgin trio

Elgin trio Archie MacPhee, Mark Nicolson and Daniel Moore will need to pass fitness tests before manager Jim Weir can name them in his side to face visiting East Stirling.

The Borough Briggs boss is looking for his men to bounce back from Saturday's 2-1 defeat from Queen's Park and secure the three points that will move his side to within touching distance of the play-offs.

Weir said: "Last-minute defeats always feel sore but the Queen's Park one hurt more as we gave away bad goals and failed to take some good opportunities.

"East Stirling have done very well recently but I want us to start moving up the way again."

East Stirling add Connor Greene to their squad after suspension but Adam Ashgar is a major doubt as the Shire look to pull level with fourth-placed East Fife.

Head coach Craig Tully said: "This will be a really difficult game as Elgin don't lose many games and they will be disappointed by their last-minute loss to Queen's Park on Saturday.

"We are playing well just now and the players deserve great credit for transforming our season as we were bottom of the table at the end of January.

"We have climbed our way up the table and hopefully we can keep doing that."
