Niven misses play-off chase

Elgin will be without suspended skipper David Niven as they chase a play-off place with victory against East Stirling.

The Moray men are bidding for a big win and hope that champions Rangers do likewise against Berwick.

Striker Paul Millar is out with a knee injury, but top goalscorer Stuart Leslie returns after a one-game ban to help his side's quest for goals.

Manager Ross Jack, who is preaching patience, said: "We'll have a big crowd backing us and we need to be attack-minded.

"But we also have to be respectful of the fact that East Stirling have defeated us twice so far this season.

"We'll do our utmost to get the win and the goals, but we cannot afford to lose anything at the back."

Bottom side East Stirling aim to avoid a 10th successive defeat without suspended pair Ricky Miller and Kevin Turner.

The Shire are also without injured quartet Rhys Devlin (knee), Nathan Shepherd (knee), Michael Herd (groin) and Philipp Zufle (ankle).

Head coach John Coughlin said: "Elgin have a lot to play for and everyone is expecting them to score a few against us, but hopefully we can put on a performance that can end the run we are on.

"We won 4-3 up at Elgin earlier in the season when we had a full squad and a repeat of a day like that would be terrific.

"It would be good to end a disappointing season on a positive note."
