Stevie Ross could make Elgin debut in home match against Clyde

New Elgin striker Stevie Ross could make his debut on Saturday when the League Two leaders host Clyde.

Matthew Cooper's knee injury keeps him out, and City manager Jim Weir is also unable to call upon the suspended Mark Nicolson and Dylan Easton.

Weir said: "Our aim is quite simple and that is to win and keep top spot.

"After making a slow start we put in a very solid performance to get a draw at Queen's Park last weekend and with the chances we created we could have sneaked something even better.

"If we play against Clyde like we did for the majority of that game I will be pleased."

Clyde include their new signing John Gemmell after he recovered from an ankle injury, and Michael Bolochoweckyj, now free from suspension, will also head north.

Mark McLaughlin misses out because of a ban and recent loan signing Scott McMann is a fitness doubt, while knee injuries keep Brian McQueen and Scott Ferguson away from the action.

Bully Wee manager Barry Ferguson said: "Elgin have not lost a game at home in League Two all season so it will be a tough ask.

"However we have prepared well and are looking forward to the challenge as winning this game puts us right back into things."
