Jack waiting on Halford

Elgin winger Lewis Halford is a major doubt ahead of their clash with Clyde at Borough Briggs.

Halford suffered a recurrence of a calf injury in training earlier this week and faces a late fitness test.

Manager Ross Jack has hinted he may be tempted to freshen things up after trips to Rangers and Peterhead in recent weeks have taken their toll on his squad.

"We had two very hard games in the space of three days and the players did well in them both but I will need to check the energy levels before deciding my team for Clyde," Jack said.

"Clyde did very well in their last away match at Annan so we have to be ready. We have gone 7 league games without defeat and it would be great to add another one on to that run."

Clyde boss Jim Duffy will be without the services of defender David Marsh.

The 22-year-old serves a one-match ban after receiving a second yellow card in their recent win over Annan.

But Duffy is boosted by the return of Gavin Brown following a hamstring injury as well as Michael Oliver who has recovered from a bout of illness.

The Bully Wee chief has been full of admiration for City ahead of the trip but expects his side to build on their last performance.

"Elgin are a really good side going forward with Stuart Leslie and Craig Gunn leading the line well and Daniel Moore a great threat from midfield," he said.

"They are a side that likes to be positive but we showed when we drew 2-2 with them at our place that we can cause problems as well.

"Going away from home is always difficult in this league but we won away at Annan on our last trip and will look to do the same at Elgin."
