Plenty of options for Elgin boss Jim Weir

Elgin manager Jim Weir has delayed selecting his side to face visitors Arbroath as striker Craig Gunn is an injury doubt, and also because he has so many options.

Scott Smith is missing due to an ankle problem, with Weir saying: "I would like to have Craig available as he always does well against Arbroath.

"We made a number of changes for the Irn-Bru Cup game with Hearts Under-20s in midweek and the players that came in did really well. I have the right type of headache to solve and I need to get it right as Arbroath have been very solid in their two opening league games."

Arbroath head to Elgin without the suspended Ryan McCord however Omar Kader and Gavin Malin are available after missing out in Wednesday night's 3-2 Irn-Bru Cup defeat to East Fife.

Despite that disappointment manager Dick Campbell said: "We played Elgin in the final game of last season and there could be only two players that played that day in our team and that shows the level of change we have gone through.

"However, I have taken a lot of heart from our midweek performance as it was the best so far. Things were knitting together and whilst it was disappointing to lose I am looking forward to heading to Elgin."
