Captain Jamie Duff sidelined for Elgin

Captain Jamie Duff misses Elgin City's clash with Arbroath because of a knee injury.

Kyle MacLeod is also out due to a bout of tonsillitis and Mark Nicolson is struggling but on-loan St Johnstone duo Mark Hurst and Liam Gordon return after missing the Scottish Cup win over Spartans last weekend at the behest of their parent club.

Elgin defeated Arbroath 3-0 on the opening day of the season, but manager Jim Weir said: "That win was a long time ago and Arbroath are a much-changed side since then. We need to be at the top of our game to pick up the three points."

Arbroath are again missing Jamie Reid and Kane Hester through ankle injuries, with on-loan Rangers midfielder Darren Ramsay required to pass a fitness test on an injured calf before he can be included.

Manager Todd Lumsden said: "The boys showed a lot of resilience to win at Brora last weekend and we will need that again up at Elgin as they are usually a very strong side at home.

"We lost to Montrose in our first meeting of the season and turned things around in our second meeting. It would be great to do the same to Elgin, and if we play like we can then we can do it."
