Elgin boss Jim Weir expecting another tough test against Annan

Elgin boss Jim Weir wants his players to build on last weekend's impressive win over Stirling when they host Annan Athletic.

Shane Sutherland bagged a brace and Chris Dodd and Craig Gunn were also on target in a comfortable 4-0 victory.

"We are looking to build on a terrific win and performance at Stirling last weekend," said Weir. "Our first-half performance was excellent in an attacking sense and we showed a real clinical nature in front of goal.

"It will be tough to do so as Annan are always very difficult opponents for us but if we play like we can, and certainly like we did last week, then we can win."

On-loan defender Ryan Sinnamon looks set for his Annan debut at Borough Briggs, while Rabin Omar could feature after returning from suspension.

Annan were held to a 1-1 draw by Edinburgh City last weekend, and manager Jim Chapman was disappointed with their second-half display.

He said: "We were one up after 45 minutes but after the break there were too many under-par performances and we lost the lead.

"Winning at Elgin will be tough but we will be going all out to get the points on the board which is crucial at this stage of the season."
