City set for striker boost

Elgin look to end Annan's interest in the play-offs and boost their own chances when the two sides meet at Borough Briggs.

City will have striker Shane Sutherland back in their ranks but Cieran McLean remains absent with a cheekbone fracture.

Manager Jim Weir said: "We lost last week to Montrose as we did not play well but with East Fife losing it was not as expensive as it could have been.

"We missed Shane last weekend when he was injured. Having him available will give us a boost on what is an exciting day when the four sides chasing the play-offs are facing each other.

Annan make the long trip north without six players through injury.

Steven Logan (hamstring) and Kenny Mackay (knee) join Iain Chisholm (knee), Matty Flynn (knee), Kieran Brannan (knee) and Stuart McColm (ankle) in the treatment room.

Athletic boss Jim Chapman said: "It is win or burst for us and it is much the same for Elgin.

"I have to praise the spirit in the squad that has kept our involvement going despite a horrendous time with injuries. They kept going to get a last minute winner against East Fife and we will need that type of attitude again as Elgin have a lot to play for as well."
