Elgin hold on to beat Annan

Elgin survived a late scare to claim a 3-2 home victory over Annan in Scottish League Two.

Goals from Darryl McHardy, Brian Cameron and Craig Gunn were enough to secure the win for Elgin despite an own goal and late scare by Matt Flynn.

McHardy's right-footed effort from 12 yards put Elgin ahead after six minutes before the midfielder scored an own goal from an Annan corner to level the score around the half-hour mark.

Elgin retook the lead on the stroke of half-time when Cameron latched on to Dylan Easton's inswinging cross to fire home from close range.

Gunn extended Elgin's lead early in the second-half, converting from the spot after Peter Watson brought down Easton.

Flynn scored late on for Annan with a driven shot to the bottom corner but Elgin held on to take all three points.
