"Cmon you supporters. Do the right thing on the day and keep the peace. Wiser men than all of us invented the game and belting the crap out of each other was not part of their vision. As an Aussie who has grown to support Burnley in a very short time thanks to father and uncle in law I would much prefer to see that passion directed to cheering on Charlie et al. So enjoy the game live or live on radio, and I'll sit up in the middle of the night down under and just watch the text commentary on the Beeb website change every five minutes. Go Clarets. (and good luck Rovers)."

Burnley and Blackburn issue joint statement calling for calm ahead of Sunday's Lancashire derby
"It is all well and good many outside of our support base to rant on about Steve Keans 'dignity' etc., and in reflection the supporters insensitive 'stance' against him. But, even though some protesting went beyond what I deem acceptable, Kean was in many ways culpable in bringing this to a head. His record at BRFC, I would challenge is undeniable to everyone at every other club, as being unacceptable. Given the above we do not need to cite in addition the continued incomprensible damage and disruption his actions have caused. Of course this is not all his own doing, he has been ably assisted by Venkys. We have plummeted from being a well respected, well run, happy, homely club down to one of sad, comic, disintgrating, structureless shell of the club we were in the space of just 20 short months. If that is not something for a supporter to not concern about I don't know what is. Before others comeon here and rant on about our lack of style, manners, behaviour they should at first; read up, educate themselvs, digest themselves of the whole timline details and then determine just what it is what they see as 'unjust behaviour' by our support."
