Funkel to end Frankfurt stint

Friedhelm Funkel has confirmed that he will leave Eintracht Frankfurt at the end of the season.
The 55-year-old, who took over as coach five years ago, only signed a contract extension in February but his team have struggled since the winter break, slipping to 13th in the Bundesliga table after winning three of their last 16 matches.
"I have talked with the club president and asked him to terminate my contract as of June 30," confirmed Funkel.
"After Saturday's game against Hamburg I will go on my holidays and think about my future."
