Franz joins up with Eintracht

Maik Franz will still be playing Bundesliga football next season after leaving relegated Karlsruhe for Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 27-year-old defender has penned a four-year deal at the Commerzbank-Arena.

Franz previously played for Karlsruhe in 2.Bundesliga and was not keen on dropping down to the second tier again.

"As much as I'd like to stay, I must bear my future in mind," he said.

"I don't want to go back to the 2.Bundesliga. I'm looking forward to Eintracht, the great stadium and the sporting challenge."
