Riots after a football match on Wednesday in Port Said left seventy three people dead and hundreds others wounded, state television reported.

Initial reports on Nile News Channel said the riots pitted fans of Al-Ahly against Al-Masri clubs, leaving "seven people dead and 35 injured."

However Egyptian authorities have now significantly upgraded the number of dead and injured.
