York ended their nine-game wait for a Blue Square Premier victory and climbed out of the relegation places thanks to Daniel McBreen's first-half goal.City took advantage of lazy defending to score the only goal, with Daniel Purkiss feeding McBreen, who stole in and coolly slotted home.
