Stranraer run riot

Stranraer ran out emphatic 6-0 winners as they brushed aside East Stirling to stay three points off the summit in the Scottish Third Division.

A brace from Stephen Stirling was added to by goals from Sean Winter, Stuart McColm, Scott Taggart and Michael Moore.

Former Rangers midfielder Stirling converted a penalty on the half-hour mark and notched his second just two minutes later as he fired an effort into the top corner from 18 yards.

Winter's close-range finish a minute later rounded off Stranraer's first-half scoring, but it took just 13 minutes for them to pick up where they left off after the break.

Stuart McColm beat Calum Antell at his near post to add a fourth before Scott Taggart fired into the far corner just past the hour mark.

Substitute Moore rounded off the scoring with eight minutes remaining.
