Coughlin to check on quartet

East Stirling have mounting injury problems ahead of their top versus bottom clash with Queen's Park.

Strikers Max Wright and Paul Quinn have suffered knocks in training, while knee problems have limited what Nathan Shepherd and Rhys Devlin have been able to do this week.

However, Michael Herd looks set to be on the substitutes' bench as he continues his comeback from a long-term groin injury.

Head coach John Coughlin said: "Queen's Park will take a lift from winning in the Scottish Cup at Preston last week. I watched the game and they are a different looking side now that they have players back from injury.

"They look big and powerful. We need to be ready for that."

Spiders captain Tony Quinn is a major doubt for the visitors due to illness.

A knee injury keeps Jamie Brough out with a shoulder problem doing likewise for James Baty.

Ahead of the game, Hampden head coach Gardner Speirs was playing down the significance of his side's first win of the season.

He said: "It was a good win but it has not lifted spirits as the spirit in our camp had remained high. We were showing signs of improving every week after a rebuilding job in the summer.

"We had key players back last week and we showed in patches that we can be a strong side."
