McKernon poised for Shire bow East Stirling will give a debut to on-loan St Mirren midfielder Jamie McKernon when Peterhead visit, however there was little other good news for head coach John Coughlin. The Shire will be missing six players with injuries ruling out Jamie Benton, Rhys Devlin, Michael Herd and Jamie Glasgow and recent signing from German football Philipp Zufle has returned to his homeland on work commitments with Michael Dunlop's loan spell ending and the defender returning to Forfar. Coughlin said: "Jamie is an excellent addition to our squad and his arrival has come at a good time as we are short of bodies. Looking at things positively we put on our best performance of last season against Peterhead in a game that we won 6-3 and a repeat would be fantastic." Peterhead travel with striker Davie Ross available for the first time this season after surgery on a shoulder injury. The Blue Toon look set to be without Callum MacDonald and Dean Cowie who are both struggling with knocks with manager Jim McInally keen for his men to build on a 1-0 win over Berwick in their last game. The Balmoor boss said: "It was not the prettiest performance against Berwick but we stuck at things and got the win. I want us to get some momentum behind us and winning this one would help that happen. "A win will not be easy if we have another day like we had the last time we were here in March, when just about everything that could go wrong went wrong."
