Buchanan missing for the Shire

Defender Raymond Buchanan will miss East Stirling's clash with Montrose as they look for the win that could lift them off bottom spot in the Third Division.

Buchanan has been transfer-listed after failing to settle at the club following his move from junior football.

The Shire are also without Nathan Shepherd and Rhys Devlin (both knee), while Michael Herd is rated as having only a 50/50 chance of playing due to a groin problem.

Better news will see Michael Hunter and Steven Jackson return after suspension and defender Jack Hamilton is in line for a debut after being signed on loan from Stenhousemuir.

Head coach John Coughlin said: "After a decent period where we moved up to sixth we have lost our way. However, I am hoping we can find it again against Montrose."

Montrose goalkeeper John Gibson will miss his side's trip after an appeal against the red card he received in last Saturday's 6-0 defeat to Peterhead was not successful.

Sandy Wood will replace him, but the Gable Endies will also be without Alan Campbell, who has a back problem and Ricky McIntosh who is out with a hip injury.

Jamie Winter is also absent due to a ban but Jonathan Crawford returns after suspension.

Links Park boss Stuart Garden said: "The Shire's last two results have not been great, however every time we have played them they have been really tight games.

"Last week's game with Peterhead was a bit freakish, so we can put that behind us and move on to this one."
