Injuries hinder East Stirling survival bid with five players ruled out

Bottom club East Stirling have five players ruled out for the visit of in-form Clyde with Chris Townsley, Ross Gilmour, Neil McCabe, Billy Vidler and David McKenna all injured.

Townsley (rib), Gilmour (foot), McCabe (thigh), Vidler (knee) and McKenna (groin) could be joined on the sidelines by John Fraser, who is a major doubt.

Head coach Craig Tully said: "We are eight points adrift and therefore every game is a must-win. We beat Clyde at the start of March with a really good performance and a repeat of that would be fantastic.

"They beat us 3-0 last midweek in a game where set-pieces dominated. We have to defend them better this time."

Clyde, who sit four points off the top with a game in hand, will be without Brian McQueen, Scott McMann and Scott Ferguson again, all due to knee injuries.

Marc Waters looks set to keep his place in goal after his loan deal from Partick Thistle was extended until the end of the season.

Manager Barry Ferguson said: "If we are serious about doing anything in this league then we have to win games like this.

"This is the third game against each other this month, which is not ideal, but we will just have to get on with it and look for the win."
