Gavin is too Swankie for Shire Gavin Swankie's hat-trick helped Arbroath take another step towards an immediate return to the Scottish Second Division as they beat East Stirling 5-2. The Division Three leaders had to come from behind, though, with Kevin Crawley's smart finish giving the home team the advantage after 27 minutes. The sides went into the break all square after Ross Chisholm headed home from 12 yards following good work by Adam Strachan. A Steven Doris header put the visitors ahead before Swankie grabbed the first of his treble five minutes later, smashing into the top corner from 12 yards out. He slotted in his second with 12 minutes remaining before the home side pulled a goal back thanks to a 25-yard screamer from Craig Scott after 82 minutes. But Swankie wrapped up all three points for Arbroath when he completed his hat-trick in injury time.
