East Stirling 0-1 Queens Park: Match Report

Daly downs East Stirling Michael Daly's second-half strike proved the difference as Queens Park claimed a hard-fought 1-0 win over struggling East Stirling. After a cagey opening period, in which both sides battled for the initiative, it was the hosts who created the first opportunity when Scott Johnston forced a smart save from Adam Strain. Queens Park responded well thereafter, though, and took the lead just after the interval when Martin McBride whipped in a delicious centre which Daly headed home. Desperate to get back into the game, East Stirling pushed forward but their endeavour just allowed the visitors to create more opportunities. But they failed to convert them and a tense finish was set up when Daryll Meggatt was sent off for a second bookable offence. However, it mattered little as Queens Park held on to claim the points.
