Peterhead 2-2 East Fife: Report

14 November 2010 00:11
Peterhead snatch a point A long-distance Stuart Anderson strike capped a late fightback as 10-man Peterhead scored two goals in two minutes seconds apart to salvage a 2-2 draw with East Fife. East Fife went ahead two minutes after the break when Kurtis Byrne drilled in after David Muir's corner was only half-cleared. Peterhead had Paul Emslie dismissed in the 55th minute when he received a yellow card for foul and abusive language. And matters got worse for the home side five minutes later when Craig Johnstone headed in Robert Sloan's cross to double East Fife's lead. The comeback started when Martin Bavidge scored after 87 minutes, finishing from the centre of the penalty area. Anderson struck two minutes later, collecting the ball from Paul Campbell on the left wing before unleashing a 35-yard effort that flew into the top-left of the goal. He almost completed an incredible turnaround in stoppage-time with a shot from 12 yards that was tipped over by Michael Brown.
