Fife low on numbers

East Fife could face a striking crisis when East Stirling visit on Tuesday night.

Nathan Austin picked up a knock in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Clyde while knee injuries keep Caolan McAleer and Kevin Smith out.

That leaves the Bayview men with only Ola Adeyemo up front while goalkeeper Jordan Millar is also missing due to an ankle injury.

Player-manager Gary Naysmith said: "We have momentum behind us after two wins and scoring late to earn the draw with Clyde and I do not want to lose that because we are short of strikers.

"I will be working to bring someone in as you need fire-power to score against East Stirling."

The Shire will give late fitness tests to Luke Donnelly and Michael Wallace, who picked up knocks in Saturday's 1-0 win at Albion Rovers, with Nathan Shepherd again missing due to a knee problem.

Head coach Craig Tully said: "We have taken a lot of confidence from defeating Elgin and then Albion Rovers and moving off the bottom of the table. We will need that confidence against a good East Fife team who have done well recently.

"Even though we won at the weekend we will need to play better than we did especially in the first half when we never got our passing game going."
